THE REFLECTION

First and foremost, I would like to thanks both my lecturer, Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul for spending their time and effort teaching me and providing the knowledge about typography. My view towards designing a text has change ALOT. I dint knew at the start that even some fonts looks symmetrical but it turns out its not!! I learn the rules, text formatting, text alignment etc which really help me have a well manage and pleasing look when doing text designing on other work. This module also help me in my Software Engineering course when in designing UI and also UX. One thing that I really wanted was to have a physical class instead of online but having a pandemic going on, is better for us to stay at home. It would be great to meet other people and get knowing each other, including the lecturers. Well its my year and last sem, I wish I have more opportunity to learn more design theories and exercise as doing this stuff fun sometimes. not for work of course hahaha. At least I know I dint regret taking this course, it help me alot!

13th April 2020 - 8th May 2020 / Week 1 - Week 4 Ali Nazhan Al-Baharin bin Azmi / 0328763 / BSE Typography / Taylor's Lakeside University Task THE LECTURES Week 1 For the summary of first week of lectures, we have a meet and greet session with the lecturers Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul. The lecturers are friendly with the student and also helpful throughout the class. The first class started with Mr Vinod explaining the module and also show us how to get attendance by replying through Facebook reply. In addition to that he also briefly explain and commented on few of the student blog which one of it is mine (thanks for informing me about the missing 'Further Reading' in my blog Sir!). He also mention that we students need few applications to be installed so that we can do the exercise given by the lecturers. 15th May 2020 - 29nd May 2020 / Week 5 - Week 6 Ali Nazhan Al-Baharin bin Azmi / 0328763 / BSE Typography / Taylor's Lakeside University Task THE LECTURES Week 5 Sir gave instruction and explaining the assignment before the start of consulting session for exercise. He said that there's 3 type of editorial text that I need to choose one of it. Then we need to use our knowledge in our type expression exercises and formatting text and do our project 1. Also, the lecture video talks about leading, paragraph spacing which both of it must be the same to achieve cross alignment. I also learn the name term pilcrow. The video also talks about line space vs leading, indentation, widows and orphans.
